NFL Week 11: A look at how former Spartans fared


Keshawn Martin’s big play on special teams was the highlight for former Michigan State players in the NFL this week.

Martin had an 87-yard punt return for the Houston Texans on Sunday in a 28-23 setback to the Oakland Raiders.
Here’s a look at how Martin and other former Spartans fared this week.

Martin, Houston – Averaged 17.9 yards on his seven punt returns, including the 87-yard score, and averaged 31 yards on two kick returns. Martin also had two catches for 32 yards for the Texans.

Le’Veon Bell, Pittsburgh – The rookie running back had four catches for 52 yards  and 18 carries for 36 yards in the Steelers’ 37-27 win over the Lions.

Domata Peko, Cincinnati – The veteran registered four tackles for the Bengals in a 41-20 win over the Browns.

Will Gholston, Tampa Bay – The rookie defensive end registered two tackles for the Bucs in a 41-28 victory over the Falcons.

Trenton Robinson, Washington – The second-year safety had three tackles for the Redskins in a 24-16 loss to Philadelphia.

Kevin Vickerson, Denver – The veteran defensive tackle had two tackles for the Broncos in a 27-17 win over Kansas City.

Brandon Fields, Miami – Averaged 52.3 yards on four punts during the Dolphins’ 20-16 win over San Diego.

Dion Sims, Miami – The rookie tight end played but didn’t have a catch in the Dolphins’ win.

Garrett Celek, San Francisco – Was inactive for Sunday’s game against New Orleans because of a hamstring injury.

    An update on former MSU basketball players in the NBA or playing professionally abroad would be great. I don’t expect a stat line from the Australian basketball league, but just an update of who is playing where.
