NFL Week 1: A look how former Spartans fared

Here’s a look at how former Michigan State football players fared in Week 1 of the NFL season.

Brandon Fields (Mia.) – Had five punts that totaled 269 yards, including two that landed inside the 20-yard line in a 23-10 win over Cleveland. His longest punt was 66 yards.

Keshawn Martin (Hou.) – Returned four kickoffs for 29 yards and three punts for seven yards in the Texans’ 31-28 win over San Diego on Monday night

Domata Peko (Cin.) – The defensive tackle registered three tackles in the Bengals’ 24-21 loss to Chicago on Sunday.

Kevin Vickerson (Den.) – The veteran defensive tackle had two tackles for the Broncos’ in a 49-27 win over Baltimore on Thursday night

*** Former MSU defensive end Will Gholston (Tampa Bay), quarterback Brian Hoyer (Cleveland) and running back Le’Veon Bell (Pittsburgh) were inactive this week.
