Michigan State stayed hot on the recruiting trail and got its 2016 class started with one of the nation’s top prospects.
Sicklerville (N.J.) Timber Creek wide receiver Cameron Chambers verbally committed to the Spartans this afternoon via his Twitter account, writing: “I am happy to announce that I will be playing WR and pursuing my master’s degree at MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY!!”
The 6-foot-2 Chambers, who recently visited MSU, is rated the No. 48 player and No. 7 receiver in the 2016 class by Rivals. He had more than 30 offers and had recently narrowed his choice of schools down to Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin and MSU.
Chambers caught 57 passes for 1,196 yards and 12 touchdowns as a sophomore.
