The Michigan State men’s basketball team remained at No. 9 in this week’s Associated Press poll.
The Spartans, who are coming off a loss Sunday at Wisconsin, are one of five Big Ten teams in this week’s AP poll.
Michigan dropped five spots to No. 15, Iowa moved up a spot to No. 16, Wisconsin entered the poll at No. 21 and Ohio State jumped back in the rankings at No. 22.
The Spartans (20-4) host Northwestern on Thursday and Nebraska on Sunday afternoon.
Also today, Joe Lunardi of ESPN has the Spartans projected as a No. 3 seed for the NCAA tournament in his latest bracketology.
MSU women remain in top 25: Despite suffering its most lopsided loss of the season Saturday, Michigan State has remained in the top 25 of this week’s AP women’s poll.
The Spartans remained in the poll for a second straight week but fell a spot to No. 25. MSU (16-8) went 1-1 last week, knocking off Illinois on the road before suffering a 76-56 road loss to then-No. 22 ranked Nebraska.
The Spartans are one of four Big Ten teams in this week’s poll. Penn State (18-5) dropped two spots to No. 11, Nebraska (17-5) moved up a spot to No. 21 and Purdue (17-7) moved up two spots to No. 23.
MSU hosts Ohio State on Saturday in its lone game this week.
