MSU verbal commit Reschke receives offer from Michigan and recruit notes

One of Michigan State’s top recruits in its 2013 class is starting to receive some interest from rival Michigan.

Birmingham Brother Rice linebacker Jon Reschke declared on his Twitter page on Sunday afternoon that he received a scholarship offer from the Wolverines.

Reschke, who verbally committed to MSU in February, is rated a four star recruit by major recruiting services ESPN, Rivals.com and Scout.com. The 6-foot-2, 229-pound outside linebacker is rated 17th at his position by Scout.

Reschke, who has helped lead Brother Rice into this weekend’s Division 2 state final against Muskegon at Ford Field, is close friends with Michigan 2013 quarterback commit Shane Morris.

Here is looking at how some of the other recruits over the weekend. Several other MSU commits will be joining Reschke at Ford Field for the Michigan state finals. Detroit Cass Tech’s Deon Drake and Dennis Finley helped the Technicians reach the Division 1 title game.

Drake Harris – The Grand Rapids Christian junior receiver had seven catches for 216 yards and three touchdowns in a 52-28 victory over DeWitt. He had TD catches of 66, 6 and 52 yards for the Eagles, who face Orchard Lake St. Mary’s in the Division 3 final.

Shane Jones – The linebacker had eight tackles in Cincinnati Moeller’s 24-21 win over Colerain.  Jones was also recently named to Ohio’s AP Southwest All-District team and selected as the defensive player of the year.

Damion Terry – The Erie Cathedral Prep quarterback was 17 of 24 passing for 331 yards and four touchdowns in a 54-12 win over Warren. That victory helped Cathedral Prep advance to this week’s District 10 championship game. Terry became the first District 10 player to throw for more than 40 TDs in  a season. He has 41 this fall and 78 for his career.

Delton Williams – The Erie Cathedral Prep receiver had four catches for 87 yards in the win over Warren. He has set a school record with 48 receptions this season.

Starting to receive some interest!?!?!?, claims he’s been offered a scholarship
by the Gulo’s. Did we check with UM? If true, just another example of “Enduring Tradition” from the fine folks in A².

    dirty pool if true.

Good to know that UM has some class and doesn’t go after recruits that are already committed to other schools. I guess they figured that the only way to compete with Meyer and OSU is to use their dishonorable tactics. I would rather have MD as my coach and have a losing season than have Hoke or Meyer and win.

    Here’s the young man’s Tweet:
“Received a scholarship to the Unniversity of Michigan this weekend”

It doesn’t say offer–implying that he’s accepting the scholarship. It’s a distinction with a difference; is he bragging or is he going? In my opinion, Reschke needs to clarify this with the press ASAP.

He just stated he ” received a scholarship “…didn’t say anything about a visit or if he’s changing his mind…people need to relax on this one…

Luv the nickname that the talent at BTN have for our own Markie Mark: they all call him Monkey Mike. Silverman stands behind him and tells him what to type, so technically he is abiding by Quicken Loan Lurker’s mandate, but in the spirit of the ban, I think not. $5.200 a year is a large for a janitor’s 10 minutes of typing (works out to $1.25M a work year, poor Monkey Mike is getting hosed), but we know who it is. Incidentally when he preempted the Spartan replay today for the monotonous, boring, and, unwatched Mary – land arrival, he laughed about it. This could be a great network, if it had a Leader, but Mark Silverman is a buffoon, he can’t keep his animosity towards the Spartans away from the business that is the BTN. He is by definition a joke.
