MSU vs. Wisconsin halftime musings: Spartans get tough, grit out early lead

EAST LANSING — Michigan State is showing it can play any style, which has been among MSU’s strengths this season.

Wisconsin makes every game ugly and this 25-18 first half in favor of the Spartans has been. But there have been moments that are promising, most notably a sequence that included two offensive rebounds and then a Keith Appling 3. His first in forever.

MSU has helped the Badgers commit eight turnovers and kept them to 7-of-21 shooting.

If MSU is going anywhere in the NCAA tournament, it’ll see all kinds of styles and matchups. This one (so far) is one the Spartans know how to handle.

More after the game.
