MSU at Wisconsin halftime musings: If Spartans defend the 3, they might actually win this game

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin has already taken 17 3-point attempts. The Badgers have hit six of them.

It’s not an overwhelming percentage and that’s why MSU trails only 28-27 at the break.

But the Spartans have been slow to catch on … Wisconsin intends to let it fly from deep. No choice. Not enough foot speed to beat MSU consistently off the dribble.

The Spartans should realize this. And, at all costs, get out on shooters or anyone who thinks they’re a shooter. Wisconsin doesn’t get to 50 points in this game only on twos.

Branden Dawson (11 points) and Keith Appling (10) lead the way here 20 minutes in.

Both teams are 10-for-27 from the floor.

More after the game.

Nice little run to close out the half after being down 7, so far fouls and turnovers haven’t been a problem, plus MSU is hitting their 3′s and free throws.

well Byrd came in the game, turned it over twice, fouled a guy, and gave up a 3 pnter, will Izzo learn not to play this kid anymore? he just doesn’t have it.

HUGE road win ! Only negative was all those offensive rebounds we gave up otherwise we beat them by double digits, first place at 6-1 with 3 road victories so far !

Big road win at Whisky. Things are going to get tougher from here on out. Hopefully we can hold serve at home.

yep tough game at IU this weekend, that’s why tonight’s victory was so important. Win our home games and we’ll be in great shape.
