Big day for MSU sports: Football signing day and basketball game day links

College football signing day is often a challenging day for sportswriters. One of my more vivid memories is from a few years back in my days covering Western Michigan, sitting in my car in a Shell gas station parking lot in Galesburg, finishing one last signing day story before driving in horrible winter traffic to Bowling Green for a men’s basketball game.

It was the dreaded home signing day-drivable road hoops game doubleheader. I arrived at halftime and considered it a success.

Tonight, Michigan State hosts Minnesota at 7 at Breslin Center, a few hours after Mark Dantonio’s signing day press conference. An easier day than the Kalamazoo-to-Bowling trek of a few years ago.

Here are links to coverage leading into both events. If you want to discuss either or both this afternoon, I’ll be hosting a live chat at 1 p.m.

Nice Hogwarts colors, Cracker! Who are you trying to be, Harry Potter? Do you realize how silly you look?

Chief, do you know how hard it is to get from Kalamazoo to Bowling Green and cover two major sports in one day. Thats the big stage Chief. A stage that you are clearly not ready for. Your jealousy and envy of Mr. Couch is showing Chief.

Well I don’t know about that kiddo, (I guess I can call you that unless your Cracker’s mom or maybe his sister or wife), but I did stay at a holiday Inn once and have played in Bowling Green’s stadium the year it opened. So, if your talking about just driving from kzoo to BG as being all that, then check and mate. Don’t bring that weak stuff. What does attended columbia college of chicago mean, were you an ACORN Volunteer? I know it means you didn’t graduate from any 4 year institution which says to me that your credibility is nil.
